This is one of the world's classic hunts. I have a high success rate on above average size bears. Those 10-footers are out there. This is a drawing permit hunt with a very good chance of drawing (sometimes 100%). It's not crowded, but must be booked well in advance. We can hunt from a spike camp or a comfortable lodge. This is a fantastic collector's hunt. Over 10 species are available including Harlequin, Barrow's Goldeneye, Scoters, and Old Squaw. We usually hunt over decoys, although pass and jump shooting are also used. Based out of our modern lodge, this hunt provides lots of action with all the comforts. Kodiak has also become known for its great deer hunting. This is a really fun hunt and includes sea ducks and fox to round out an excellent experience. Bucks average around 95, though we have taken some award winners up to 120.
